Probationary Officers are recruited after taking SBI PO examination. This exam gives young graduates a chance to join Junior Management Level position directly to the Banking industry.

Every year the banks conduct this exam to appoint new officers in the bank. People apply for this exam in large numbers, and they sit on the exam. Only the successful candidates are selected as SBI PO. Preparation for this examination makes the difference between the successful candidates and unsuccessful candidates.

For any candidate to pass this exam, he should understand very well preparation tips, important books to read, the syllabus and the exam pattern. All these will give the candidate an effective preparation for SBI PO exam and end up being a successful candidate.

1. Candidate Should Understand SBO PO Exam Patterns

The first thing that a candidate need to understand very well is the pattern which SBI PO exam and the rest of the preparation will be easy. The State Bank of India is always changing the pattern which sometimes makes it hard for candidates to predict the pattern.

Currently, the exam is conducted in three phases not two phases as it has always been.  In phase one, the candidates take a preliminary. This a one-hour exam of 100 marks which is taken online by the candidates.

The candidates who pass phase one proceeds to take phase two exam. This is an objective test taken an online exam that consists of 200 marks and 50 marks of a descriptive test.

Phase three is the last phase where the successful candidates of phase two are invited for an interview. The candidates who pass this phase are therefore given Junior management positions in the banks.

2. Candidate Should Understand Important Book To Help In SBI PO Exam

Many books teach on SBI PO exam, but not all books are relevant in the preparation of the SBI PO exam. The candidates should pick the books that deal with the parts concerned which are examinable by SBI PO.

Some of the books are; Objective English for Competitive Examinations by Hari Mohan Prasad, Uma Rani Sinha, and Quantitative Aptitude For Competitive Examinations by R. S. Aggarwal.

3. Candidate Should Cover The Entire Syllabus And Discuss With Friends Before.

The candidates should study the syllabus according to the phases. After going through the whole syllabus, it’s also important to solve the mock test.

Discussion with friends will help the candidate remember what they have studied during the exam period. As the candidate studies, they should always short notes which they can refer to when they are revising for the exam in short time.

Proper preparation for the SBI PO exam gives candidates confidence when they are taking the exam. This boosts their memory capacity, and they can attain the best in the exam. If a candidate fails to prepare adequately, they also do not perform in the exam.
